How busy we get...too busy to care???

Today, my thoughts have been a lot about how easy it is to get so caught up with being busy with work, home, family, church "outings" or tasks to really care about the people we're spending time with during those outings. A few years ago in undergrad school at Mt. Olive College, I read a book by Robert Mulholland that suggests the definition of a Christian is "being transformed into the image of Christ for the sake of others." (maybe not DIRECTLY quoted)...well that brought back the rememberence of when I was nine I vowed to always make a difference in the lives of others. Now sometimes that difference hasn't always been good...but today I strive for each person I see to have a smile because of something I can share or say to them. The other part of that vow was that now I try to appreciate everyone God has put in my path for their reason, not for the reason I need them or want them to be there....
and as always God has graciously blessed me with many wonderful people...from Kairos volunteers, to Kairos graduates...Emmaus friends and Lifetouch family....God just takes care of us!! and yet I still find that there are days my care is not genuine ... or I am too busy to appreciate someone....and once again I see that the Potter has me on the wheel to shape me into the image that God created!!
